Welp, we've been quarantined for over a month now and, honestly, it hasn't been as bad as I thought it was going to be. Granted, this is coming from a true introvert, so quarantine is kinda like my happy place...
LOL
But in all honesty, as I've stated previously, I thrive on close connections with a few people. And so, because of quarantine, Clint and I have been able to spend pretty much ALL of our time together. And I do feel like we've gotten closer because of it. We haven't even come close to driving each other crazy and I've come to realize even more-so how much I appreciate him and everything he does for me.
Connection
We all want more of it, don't we? Well that has been the beauty of this quarantine, if there is any beauty to come out of it. We've been able to spend an endless amount of time with the people we're closest with and even if we're not able to be in the same room as those people, we've come up with alternative ways to connect with them. And isn't that beautiful?
So here I'm opening up our quarantine experience thus far with you to maybe create an even better connection. Here goes...
First off, we've really and truly just been enjoying each other's company. And the few times we have been able to get together with family (socially distant, of course) have been incredible. We didn't have any other cares during those times; just being together was the most important thing.
We are still working our normal 8-5 jobs with Bass Pro and are incredibly grateful that our positions have been deemed "essential" in order to run the remaining parts of Johnny's businesses. Clint is set up in one of our guest bedrooms and I am set up on the dining room table. It's a bit odd, but for the most part, we've been able to make it work. We're supposed to be back in the office on June 1st, so cross your fingers that actually happens!
We've been getting in a more regular workout routine, which has really helped us keep our sanity. Most days we'll do a Beach Body workout that doesn't require equipment but sometimes we'll take the doggies for a run and/or do hourly exercise challenges throughout our work day; forcing ourselves to get up and move. We're trying really hard to keep #quarantinefifteen from becoming a reality...
In the evenings we're back to our pre-quarantine routine of making a quick dinner and "netflix & chilling". But, I've also really gotten into reading in the evenings. Clint got me the Harry Potter series for my birthday and I'm already almost finished with book #2...
Clint has taken the quarantine as an opportunity to get some projects done around the house. #blesshim He organizes the garage and his fishing stuff on a regular basis while constantly helping me keep the house picked up and cleaned. We've got the landscaping done in the front and are working to update the back. The doggos are making that a little difficult, though. ;)

We've been able to get on the water several weekends; Clint goes every weekend unless the weather is bad. This past weekend, we had some of Clint's friends from back home out, which was so fun to see them and to get out & about. We hadn't been out with good friends in what felt like ages! We've also been able to take the dogs on a couple adventures and are so grateful that most of the parks have remained open for exploring.
Thank you to whoever came up with Bud Light Seltzer; I owe you one.
I've really dived deep into launching my business with LimeLife; really started to put effort towards making that a real thing. I've found it's good for my soul and incredible for my self confidence. Nothing makes a girl feel better than clear skin and professional makeup. Combine that with a joyful group of women and you've got a recipe for success.
We are supposed to be in Glacier National Park about one month from now. Currently the park has not set a date to reopen. However, the hotel we're staying in during the first part of our trip, which is actually located INSIDE the park, is supposed to reopen for business June 15th...about one week before we're supposed to be there. Please P R A Y that we'll be able to go. I really feel like we need this time as a family and I'm pretty positive this trip could have a lasting impact on me.
As I mentioned previously, we are supposed to be quarantined for another couple of weeks before heading back to the office. How long are you remaining in quarantine? And what are you going to remember about this season of life? When you look back on this time, what it is that will come to mind?
For me, I think it'll be the inability to see friends and family if I wanted to. The inability to go have delicious coffee at a local shop if I wanted to. The inability to sit on a patio during springtime with a glass of wine in hand. A lot of my favorite things...I'm not allowed to do right now. But I hope I remember this time and the things I missed out on & am then able to appreciate them even more. To be even more grateful to have those things in my life and the freedom to go do them.
Even though we're stuck inside, we can still take this time to create lasting memories with the ones we love. So, what is your outlook going to be? Will you look back on this time in a completely negative light, or will you choose to see the joy?
I will choose to see joy.
XOXO,
