We're finally coming into a weekend where neither of us has any plans and guess what? The weatherman is predicting non-stop rain. *insert crying emoji*. BUT! We're not going to let that get us down! So, for my benefit as well as yours, I'm putting together a list of fun and/or productive things to do when the weather (or the Corona :P) just won't let you get outside.

The Fun Stuff:

1. Do a puzzle. This is one of our favorite rainy day/winter activities. Just need to pick up a few more from the store and we're set!

2. Work on your writing. As I've said before, it's VERY therapeutic.

3. Read a book. Probably my all-time favorite rainy day activity. Can't wait until I have the Harry Potter series in my hands again.

4. Make some yummy snacks, like Rice Krispie treats or hot fudge brownies...YUM

5. Pamper yourself. Get out all the works...take a bubble bath, paint your nails...do a mask...ALL the things.

6. Play cards or a board game. Clint and I love Cribbage.

7. Try out a new makeup look or hairstyle. This is something that's fun for me since I usually have to do it anyway for Unapologetically Blog! Get on Pinterest to find some really creative ideas and test out your skills!

8. Paint or craft something. Search Pinterest for easy DIY/craft projects and have at it! This can easily make those hours fly by on a rainy day.

9. Color! This may sound silly, but I love those paint-by-numbers goodies we got as kids. And I guarantee they'd be just as fun at 27 (or any age).

10. Get crafty with your cocktails. Pull out the ingredients you have available and see what you can create! It may get a little weird, but is 100% going to be fun!

Now, I know it can't all be fun and games. And I know a lot of us use the weekends to get things done. Well, name a better day to get things done than one that's rainy and gross!! Here are some of my tips for using this rainy day to be productive!

The Practical Stuff:

1. Go through that closet. You KNOW there's stuff in there you haven't worn all season long...CHUCK IT, girl! Likely there's someone out there who would get more use out of it than you did.

2. Organize your shoes. Currently, mine are thrown every-which-way across my closet floor. It takes me 5 minutes (maybe an exaggeration) to find a matching pair in the morning. If I had them laid out all nice and neat, I'd save myself both time and stress!

3. Do ALL the laundry. I'm really bad about doing a load here and there, and then letting it pile up before I'm on to the next load (probably means I have WAY too many clothes). Sometimes I forget I even had a particular shirt until it goes through the laundry a month later...whoops.

4. Organize your laundry/cleaning closet. I don't know about you, but we'll finally get ours to place where it's easy to grab something and then a week later it's completely trashed again. Getting this checked off your list will also relieve some of that stress!

5. Clean your baseboards. If they're white, like mine, you KNOW how dirty those things get. Especially if you have pets. Take an old toothbrush and start *gently* scrubbing.

6. Get at those ceiling fans and light fixtures. They're so easy to forget when you're doing your normal dusting during the week and MAN can that dust build up quick. Imagine all of those allergens just sitting up there...GROSS.

7. Clean lampshades. These are also tricky items that build up a lot of dust over time and you don't even realize it. Use a lint roller and gently go over the shades.

8. Clean the blinds. Again, another item that builds up dust like NONE OTHER.

9. Go through your bathroom drawers (or any drawers). If you're anything like me, you use spare drawers for junk you probably will never use again, but don't throw out (for whatever reason). Go through these. Organize them and throw out whatever you know you don't need.

10. Rearrange a room. Okay...this can be kinda fun (at least for me). But it is also practical because it'll force you to clean those areas (aka behind the couch) that you rarely get to. So, come up with a fun idea of how to redesign your space and get to it!

This list could go on and on...

Depending on what you have going on in your personal life, you could add so many items to this list. If you're doing any interior home improvement projects, rainy days are obviously perfect to stop procrastinating on those. Use this time to get some things checked off your list. You won't regret it; your stress level is guaranteed to diminish.

Other than that, I hope ya'll have a wonderful weekend! Hopefully you have better weather where you are than where we are and can get outside! We're getting into that prime time of year to get gardening work done and I'm just itching to get my hands out there!

I hope these ideas are beneficial to you!

Please stay healthy out there, my friends.

A place to be #unapologeticallyme.
