Hey ya'll! It's me again. I wanted to create a post letting you all know exactly why I chose to create this blog and why I'm calling it Unapologetically Me. I follow quite a few bloggers on social media, as I'm sure a lot of you do as well, and I started to realize that...my life is NOTHING like these women (or at least how they portray their lives to be). Not trying to put these women down in any sort of way, but how can I be looking up to these women when I know my life will never be that extravagant? And why am I not 100% content with what I already have? Because of social media, women everywhere are comparing themselves to unrealistic "realities". A lot of these women are blogging about getting permanent eyelashes put on or microblading their eyebrows or getting botox...and I'm over here like WUT??? Is this reality??? Do I really need to spend $300 every few months on my eyebrows??? I'm here to say NO, I DO NOT and that is COMPLETELY FINE. Not only is it fine, it is NORMAL.

Here are my 11 reasons why I'm choosing to be #UnapologeticallyMe:

1. I want women to know that they don't have to live up to the lives of other women portrayed on social media

2. I want women to know that it's okay if you buy your makeup at Walmart and maybe only dye your hair once every 6 months (or not at all)

3. I want women to know that in those pretty pictures you see on Instagram...most likely there's a pile of clothes in the corner that was simply pushed out of the way

4. I want women to know that if your lips don't look that full...it's okay...those are most likely lip fillers you're seeing in that photo

5. I want women to know that if her waist is as thin as a Victoria's Secret model, it's most likely photoshopped

6. I want women to know that all of those athlete/fit model photos you see without any stretch marks or dimples...those are also most likely photoshopped

7. I want women to know that happiness is what's most important in life and if lip fillers and botox is what is going to make you happy, by all means go for it, but it is NOT expected of you

8. I want women to know that all of the pretty people have issues too, they're just not showing you

9. I want women to know that if you can only afford to go on vacation once a year (or not at all), that's okay...it's completely normal

10. I want women to know that if you can only afford to shop at Target, Marshalls, TJMaxx, Homegoods and Amazon...same girl, same

11. I want women to know that if you're usually quiet and reserved, it's okay; if people actually get to know you, they'll love you
